Baby Mila

Please pray for the Basile family! They are in the process of adopting Baby Mila(Me-la) from an orphanage in a country 5000 miles away.  She is in desperate need of medical care! She is the most precious little baby and she deserve to be in her mommy and daddy's arms FOREVER! She also has a big sister at home waiting to love on her. Her mommy and daddy go before court (in that country) on Wednesday to be declared Mila's parents. Unfortunately, there is a 10 day wait period before they can take custody of her. Please pray this mountain is moved and they are able to take her home as soon as court is over!

I don't personally know this family but have been following their blog for a while. Their other daughter was adopted too so they have been through this process before. It is amazing the transformation their first daughter, Zoya, has made since being home with them. Loving a child can make a world of difference!

This may seem really strange to request prayer for someone I don't "really" know but it's the least I can do for my brother and sister in Christ. Please visit their blog and follow their journey to bringing Baby Mila home, http://hopefulheartadoption.blogspot.com/.

Thanks,
Julie

This past weekend....

Just wanted to jot some things down for my memory....
This weekend was very fun but also very busy. Friday was pretty normal except that Eric FINALLY had a long weekend!!! Aunt Robin and Uncle Wayne(Eric's sister and brother in law) were in from NC so we went to New Castle to have supper with the family Friday night. YUM!!!

Saturday morning the kids had a football game at 10. All of the King family came out to support their favorite football player and cheerleader. Although we didn't win it was still good to be with all the family. After we had lunch together we headed to Newport to see the youngest member of our clan, Audrey Ruth. Oh my goodness, she is the cutest thing ever!!! She is so petite and has the biggest eyes and was in full "show off" mode!!
Then Eric decided it would be nice to drive up to Mountain Lake since we were so close....NOT A GOOD DECISION! By the time we were heading back down the mountain all 3 of us told him "we would not be coming back with him...EVER"!!! Caleb was car sick, Emily was scared of being up so high and I didn't see the purpose in driving up a mountain to see a dry lake. At least we made a memory! Ha!!! Don't think we will forget that trip for a while.

Sunday we visited Good Shepherd Baptist Church and we really enjoyed it. The Pastor preached a great message entitled "Man on the Run" which was about Jonah. Needless to say, we needed to hear that! We went to the early service and then had brunch at Cracker Barrel. We headed to New Castle for Sunday evening service for Revival at Eric's Dad's church. David Wheeler, a Liberty professor preached and he also done a great job! Dr.Wheeler was supposed to preach Monday night too but was unable to be there. Eric's Dad asked him to preach but Eric said NO! After a sleepless night and wrestling with God(which is not fun) he called his Dad and told him he thought the Lord wanted him to preach. HE DONE SOOOOO GOOD!!! I am so proud of him. Not only because he did a GREAT job but because he was obedient to the Holy Spirit!

I like to write about funny things my kids say so I won't forget.....this time Emily cracked us up!

Eric(looking in the mirror in car): I'm aging
Emily(from backseat): You are NOT Asian!!! LOL

At church Sunday evening: Uncle Mike's group was playing before the service started.
Uncle Mike walks over to play the huge Bass...
Emily to Me: I didn't know Uncle Mike knew how to play a harp!

Our kids never cease to keep us laughing. You never know what they are going to say!

Progress....

Quick update on my weight loss! As of this morning I have lost a total of 6 lbs and 3 1/2 inches in my waist. Unfortunately I can't remeber the exact date I started. I believe it's been about 3 weeks consistently doing the shakes. Also, not sure if it's a conincidence or not but I've been able to decrease my thyroid meds by 1/2 tablet per week. This has never happened!!! Usually I am adding to my dosage! Excited to keep the weight and inches melting off. Seeing results is what keeps me motivated.....
